Starting with Firefox version 62 for Mac, Adobe Flash applets will be run in a more secure mode using process sandboxing.
The sandbox is known to prevent the following features from working:
- Print to PDF from the Flash print dialog
- Print to Open in Preview from the Flash print dialog
- Quicklook in the File -> Open menu
- Saving files from a Flash applet
- Flash applets downloading and running the Adobe Air installer
- Flash triggering Adobe Air applications to run
To disable the Flash sandbox in Firefox, follow these steps:
- Type about:config in the address bar and press EnterReturn.
A warning page may appear. Click to continue to the about:config page. - Find the preference dom.ipc.plugins.sandbox-level.flash and double-click itclick the Edit button.
- Enter an integer value of 0 (zero) and click on the checkmark to save the change.
- Quit and reopen Firefox so that the change will take effect.
Every time I update Firefox I lose Flash capabillity. I have updated to Firefox 3.6.13 and Flash 10,1,102,64 (Mac OS X 10.6.4). I can view Flash content localy with Firefox but not over the web. I can view the same Flash content online and localy with Safari. Before you start, check the version of Safari running on your Mac. To display the version number, choose Safari > About Safari.

- If your Safari version is 11.0 or later, follow the steps in For Mac OS X 10.11, macOS 10.12, and later.
- If your Safari version is 10.0 or later, follow the steps in For Mac OS X 10.10.

Click the Websites tab and scroll down to the Plug-ins section. Locate the Adobe Flash Player entry.
Select a setting to use for Flash Player when you visit other websites.
You can configure Flash for individual websites (domains). Select a website listed in this window, and choose Ask, Off, or On.
Exit Preferences after you finish configuring Flash Player.
