1. Download and Install Windows Virtual PC from Microsoft. Create Windows XP mode and logon
2. From Windows 7, Download, copy paste to Win XP mode and Install DxWnd from sourceforge
3. From Windows 7, Download, copy paste to Win XP mode and Install PowerISO
4. Not sure? Please Google all steps above
5. Download, copy paste to XP, Mount and Install PM98 (premier manager 98.iso)
6. In DxWnd folder, dxwnd.exe -- File -- Import -- exports folder -- Premier Manager 98.dxw -- Open
7. Right click Premier Manager 98 icon -- Modify -- Path -- C:Program FilesGremlinPremier Manager 98MANAGER.EXE
Uncheck Run in window -- OK
8. In XP mode, Control Panel -- Administrative Tools -- Computer Management -- Disk management
Right Click CD-ROM 0 -- Change Drive Letter and Paths -- Change -- F: or any alphabet BUT NOT D: -- OK
9. Unmount PM98
10. Right click premier manager 98.iso -- PowerISO -- Mount image to drive [D:]
11. Start the game

Extract the ISO and eject/unmount it if mounted still, then play the extracted .exe. That worked for me.

hi team, i've read the guids, downloaded the VirtualCloneDrive, extracted and added the Tactics file... and it keeps coming up with the 'needs CD' error and then stalls. running Windows 10...
any hints/tips/glaringly obvious things i'm not doing!?

Chuck, and Winny thanks for the info. Im an absolute noob at this sort of thing. Is there any chance you can give me a step by step on how to install and play this? Im having issues getting it going and im desperate to play it! Im on a Windows 10 laptop. I tried mounting it just with the Windows 10 built in mounter (right clicking and mounting), but it just hung in a black screen when I clicked the PM98 .exe file. Any help would be much appreciated!

after you've followed Winny's instructions, create a folder in the Premier Manager 98 directory called 'TACTICS' this fixes the save game issue

Great game, spent many hours on this.
To get it working on Win10 I just extracted the ISO and ran the .exe, no mounting or installing required.

Kept coming back to this site for the past years to try and keep this awesome game up and running. Available cracks don't work, trust me. I've tried them all. Some comments above mention to change the drive letter. This is the way to go, but I am using PowerISO and cannot set it to :A or :B. (its protected). What you should do FIRST is rename your CD-drive (which usually is :E) in Windows Disk Management to :X or whatever you prefer. THEN you can change your virtual drive to :E. This way it reads it like its in the correct CD path. Now the game launches. Unfortunately I havent figured out how to fix the colors - or worse - the 'shifting' of the buttons, so basically I still am waiting for the day I can play Scott Taylor from Blackpool again :)

someone please help! downloaded the game had the old needs original disc issue. So i burnt to cd from the disc image and now it says this app cant run on your pc, any help appreciated!!

I have downloaded and burnt to cd, after I had sat and played continuously for almost 4 hours (sad I know) it had a fault saving the game!!! had therefore tried countless times to get this to work but unfortunately I cant seem to save the game as it says insufficient space on HDD requires 3mb. did anyone else have this problem and if so how did you get round it?

Did anyone ever sort out the colour issues on Win 10? I followed all your steps and got it to run (thank you for that), but it's unplayable. The colours are scrambled and I can't work out how to rectify it. I'm even playing on a virtual machine (using xp) but that doesn't help.

Change the drive letter of your virtual drive from a higher letter(e,f,g) to a lower letter(a,b). If it fails to start, burn the image on a freaking compact cd :-)

update - I renamed the drive that the ISO was self mounting to letter 'B' instead of 'K' which was the old one. And now it doesnt ask for the original CD anymore and works great

On my computer at home I have same issues with needing original cd blah blah and I cant play it.
But on my computer at work it runs with no issues i dont understand why since both have windows 10.
So my productivity went down at work since I installed the game...but the good news is i am in the playoffs.

hey guys, i downloaded the game but the problem with this original disc stuff cannot be solved. i saw that couple of people mentioned the same problem more than a month already. i, too, looked all over the web for a solution but seems like there was none.
can the Admin give some help about that?
it's my favorite childhood game. it's the reason that i developed a great love for newcastle united :)
pm97 has colour problems that cannot be fixed (believe me i tried), pm99 runs great but you know that it's no pm98. my nickname for this post must tell you how i feel! looking for a reply :) cheers

Hi folks!
If anyone is having problems saving their game, here is a solution I figured out:
I'm playing PM98 on Windows 10. The problem is that the virtual drive for reading the ISO file has no memory so the game thinks there is no memory on your hard drive.
1. Open ISO file.
2. Copy all files and folders into a new folder on your desktop.
3. Create a folder within the new folder called 'TACTICS'.
4. Mount the ISO file but run the game from the copied files in your new folder.
5. Play the life out of this beautiful game.
